New Database of Routes/Timetables for Zusi Route Finder Release 8 (for Zusi 3.5.12.0)



Steps to overwrite your current database with the new one given here....


1. Start Zusi Route Finder
2. Backup your current Notes, Bookmarks etc with menu option... Database > Backup...
3. Close Zusi Route Finder
4. Find the folder where Zusi Route Finder is installed, quick way... Right click on Zusi Route Finder icon on your desktop and select.. Open File Location
5. Download the updated database here:

6. Now overwrite the database file currently in the Zusi Route Finder folder with the database you just downloaded

7. Start Zusi Route Finder and select menu option... Database > Restore... , make sure to pick the backup file you saved in 2. above, and the options in the dialog box:
'Restore All' and 'Overwrite With Data in Backup', all other options do not matter.... Click Restore Backup, Zusi Route Finder will tell you how many routes/timetables
it could not restore (because they are no longer in the new database or there numbers have changed)

8. You can now carry on using Zusi Route Finder

9. Optional, but worthwhile: If you need to possibly see what routes/timetables did not restore then you can use the menu option... Database > Backup File Viewer...
See the Zusi Route Finder manual for more about this.
You should do this if all your database does not fully restore because sometimes Zusi Route Finder can get it wrong when it restores a backup and you may be able to still find the route in the new database and copy your Note, Status, Bookmark over etc. so its worth checking.

i realise there is an updated version of Zusi (to 3.5.13.1) out, however i have a problem creating the database from it for Zusi Route Finder, so until i can fix that there will be no update to Zusi Route Finder

okay, i found the problem, it was a single quote in the table name that my program was not checking for , and this is it:

'D1205',''Riviera-Express' Koln Hbf - Pisa','110','201','1999-04-23 22:21:00','00:02:00','387','D1205','TB0','Deutschland\Mannheim-Stuttgart','Nordbaden_1999_17-23Uhr.fpn','[{"station":"Heidelberg Hbf"

The single quote can be seen at the start of ''Riviera-Express'

Knowing that, and barring no more surprises... we should have a new version of Zusi Route Finder by this weekend

Just to say, the next release of Zusi Route Finder will be delayed while i add lots of keybindings that should help you move around the routes/timetables grid without using the mouse, plus a new feature called...

Next version should have the following:

1. Updated database to match current timetables
2. Bug fixes, especially for the next and previous bookmark
3. Lots of new key bindings to move around the timetable grid etc
4. And this, a new button added to the filter panel, which will also need a seperate dialog box... one wonders what it could be

And the smiley face on the filter panel will be for your favourite filters....

1. Click the button to see a popup of your favourite filters, then select one to update the filter panel directly (you can have upto 15 favourite filters)... no messing about having to open a folder and find it, you can load a filter in seconds...




2. To add, remove, change the order of your favourite filters, select Favourite Filters... you can see at the bottom of the menu (or select it under Filter on the main menu)...and you will see this...
