Robke hat geschrieben: 12.07.2025 09:15:22 Good morning,

The timetable ..\Salzkotten_Goettingen_Kassel\Kassel-Hann-Hannmuenden_2021_fpn is dated 22-6-2024 in my folder, so not very recent. I tried to start the one without a train entry through Route Finder, but that doesn't work without ZusiStart. After installing ZusiStart I get a message which says that it cannot be started because the full version of Zusi is not installed. I guess that is an issue due to the fact I use the Aerosoft version.

After rechecking it seems the train without an entry in the vehicle column points to ..\Rund_ums_Weserbergland\Weserbergland_1996_5-11Uhr.fpn, so it's not the one I'm looking for.

Rob

EDIT: the part of Zusi Start in this message can be ignored. After doing some research on this forum and some help from https://zusiwiki.echoray.de/wiki/Zusi-Verzeichnisse I got Zusi Start running.

Okay, if we go back to your original question which was to do with route number 51186, if we look at the first screenshot this is what appears if we enter this route number into ZRF (after using the Reset button in the Filter panel to clear out any other filtering)....

Bild

I get 4 routes (the order you see them maybe different depending on what setting you have Order By set to in the Filter panel) and if you look on the right under the columns Folder and File it even tells you where to roughly find them in Zusi
Also note that the top route has no vehicle entry (as i think i stated in the latest ZRF manual) the reason is because at the time of creating the database i was unable to get that information (in fact in the current version of ZRF there are 16 routes without the vehicle information) and this also means that you will not be able to auto start that route in Zusi Start but more about that in a minute.
As for the other routes in the list if we start from the bottom with the one with the vehicle 140 this started no problem using the Start With Zusi button (i did initially have to restart Zusi and Zusi Start but i do mention that in the ZRF manual) and here is the screenshot of it in Zusi after i had started it....

Bild

And this also worked for the other routes in the list with the vehicles.... 152 and 139, they both started automatically using the Start In Zusi button

Finally we come to the top one with the missing vehicle (out of interest in the next version of ZRF instead of the vehicle column being empty it will have 'Unknown' written there instead)... as already stated if you try to start this one one with the Start In Zusi button (and Zusi Start is already running in the background) then you would see this....

Bild

And if you was to click the Yes button (to manually find the route in Zusi) you should see this...

Bild

Which gives you the correct information to find that route in Zusi

I hope some of that answers your questions
Best regards
Neil

It's the same.

That’s right. The problem was the register entry which was missing. Using ZuSi Dateiverwaltung made an entry in the register so now ZuSi Start runs without any problem.

Thanks Neil, it seems to work fine now. Maybe the fact that I didn't have Zusi Start installed had something to do with this issue. Again, thank you very much for helping me out!

When searching for train 51186 I get those 4 entries and the one with no vehicle marked indeed points to the Fahrplan Kassel-HannMuenden_2021.fpn.

Kind regards,
Rob

Sounds good, it could be that in your initial search using the Filter panel that you did a combination search for both the train number (185) and the route number (51186) in which case the route you were after (the one with the missing vehicle number) should have also appeared, however because it had no entry in the vehicle column the database search did not see it.

However to solve that in the next release i will be inserting 'Unknown' in the empty vehicle column and forcing the vehicle search to always show any routes that have 'Unknown' at least this way the route will appear after the search.

Do not look at the end of this post for new links.

Everyone will need to get the next update when its released as i have made a major change to the way the number field is obtained and stored compared to previous releases.

In previous releases i was only storing part of the number field, however this is no longer accurate enough.

Unfortunately this may make any database backups you have made to not fully restore... i will try to look at a workaround for that but bear in mind it may not be possible and my advice is to get screenshots and take the odd note of your favourite routes now while you can.
I cannot see me having to make a change like it again, so dont despair too much 👍

I have just added links to the latest version that includes a hot fix so that previous database backups can be restored... you should uninstall and delete the version you have and install this one.

I found the start button :D

First thing I tried to do, didnt work as expected. I click into the Routes (All) table and select one entry (highlighted). When I use the cursor keys to navigate up/down, the timetable won't be updated. It's mandatory to click the entry with the mouse to update the timetable.

Yes, mouse click... nobody uses the keyboard to do that no more

I will have a look though, maybe add keyboard nav to it

Well i just added the ability to use the cursor keys (and of course page up and page down) in the routes grid to update the timetable and note etc.... does anyone want this as another hot fix to version 7?

Final hot fixes added to release 7, if you have previously downloaded and installed it then uninstall and delete that and get this one:

viewtopic.php?t=18919

There will not be any more updates for a while unless there is a major update to Zusi

Hi guys, just a quick tip in using Zusi Route Finder...... if you ever want to list all the routes starting with the routes that have the most number of stops (lots of stops make for a good challenge) then you just need to do this....

1. On the Filter panel on the left click the Reset button at the top, when the dialog pops up click Yes... this clears out any filtering you may be using.

2. In the Filter panel again, in the 'Order By' group near the top, set the dropdown to 'Stops' and set the radiobutton underneath to 'Desc'

3. You should now see all the Routes ordered by the number of stops, with the highest number of stops at the top.

Its also up to you if you decide to show your bookmarked routes above these (again, they will be in Order of highest number of Stops first followed by all the routes you have not bookmarked) or not by checking off/on the 'Keep Bookmarks At Top' checkbox at the top of the Filter Panel.

4. See screenshot below...

I am updating the first post with new links to Release 8 for Zusi 3.5.12.0, not only does this include all the latest timetables/routes but also a fix to do with finding the route in Zusi.

NOTE:

Before uninstalling your current version, remember to Backup your database (which includes Notes, Bookmarks etc.) so you can try to restore them after installing this latest version.

Hi everyone, a new database of routes/timetables is coming for Zusi Route Finder....... The reason its just a database and not a complete new install is that the routes/timetables have been updated in Zusi but the program version is still at 3.5.12.0 like Zusi Route Finder.

It will be fairly easy to update, just read the next post for where to get the database file and for details....

Cheers
