Vectron (and other MMI/CCD display locomotives) displays desync
Vectron (and other MMI/CCD display locomotives) displays desync
Hi,
I've noticed a weird issue as of late, where the display in the Vectron will start running behind after a little bit of playtime. If I press F2 and pause it it seems to temporarily resync it (ie it shows the time that ZusiDisplay shows), but after that it'll start desynchronising again.
Is this a known issue?
Thanks,
Skye

Hey Skye,
first, welcome to the forum.
Regarding your issue, it seems that your CPU is too slow. Maybe you can tell us what type of CPU you have.
Here are some similar, earlier reportings regarding the same issue (in german):

Re: Vectron (and other MMI/CCD display locomotives) displays desync
Hi,
Thanks for the response, but I don't believe that is the problem.
The specifications of my system are as follows:
Intel i5-12400
32GB DDR4
NVIDIA RTX 4060
It's a desktop PC also, so CPU power really shouldn't be the problem I don't think.
Thanks,
Skye

No, the CPU shouldn't be the issue here.
Do you may have a lot of other apps running in the background?

Re: Vectron (and other MMI/CCD display locomotives) displays desync
Not particularly, the CPU is nowhere near maxed out in Task Manager.
Re: Vectron (and other MMI/CCD display locomotives) displays desync
Keep in mind that Zusi is more focussed on single core performance. But anyway, with your CPU this shouldn't be an issue.skye hat geschrieben: 10.08.2026 12:50:19 Not particularly, the CPU is nowhere near maxed out in Task Manager.
You could change the view in the Task Manager to see the total usage for each core separate and check if there is some core always at its limit. You could also have a look at the CPU usage of the sub processes of Zusi (especially at the ones from ZusiDisplay) and look if you see anything striking there.
By the way, do you have any special anti virus app installed beyond Microsoft Defender? Maybe it is slowing down the TCP traffic between Zusi and ZusiDisplay.
Best regards

Please click "all tabs to default" in the settings dialog. Does the problem persist?

I'll give that a test just now.Carsten Hölscher hat geschrieben: 10.08.2026 20:18:06 Please click "all tabs to default" in the settings dialog. Does the problem persist?

I don't, no, in fact I turned off MS Defender Real-time protection because I noticed it was causing huge CPU spikes when the computer was loading into Zusi.yxyx hat geschrieben: 10.08.2026 15:13:37Keep in mind that Zusi is more focussed on single core performance. Seems to have gone, but I haven't done that much testingCarsten Hölscher hat geschrieben: 10.08.2026 20:18:06 Please click "all tabs to default" in the settings dialog. Does the problem persist?

Strange that it'd lag behind like that, though
Re: Vectron (and other MMI/CCD display locomotives) displays desync
Maybe you accidentally touched the interval at which Zusi sends the data to ZusiDisplay.

Re: Vectron (and other MMI/CCD display locomotives) displays desync
It wasn't ZusiDplsay lagging, it was the built in cab screens
Re: Vectron (and other MMI/CCD display locomotives) displays desync
Yes and these integrated screens are also rendered by ZusiDisplay.skye hat geschrieben: 11.08.2026 12:58:18 It wasn't ZusiDplsay lagging, it was the built in cab screens

Re: Vectron (and other MMI/CCD display locomotives) displays desync
I found out why!
It appears if you have frame rate throttling disabled it lags behind for some reason - I have my frame rate throttling set to 60fps, but I'm on a 180Hz monitor so I decided to try turn it off, and immediately I started to get lag on the MMI.

Thank you for your update. We will check the dependencies between the fps throttling and a display lag.
