Zsig restriction validity

#1 Beitrag von Rimplot »

When leaving Bft Eppingen Pbf, I passed an Hp 2 signal at the end of the platform. In my working timetable it was noted that the speed limit at that signal is 50 km/h.
After travelling for some time with 50, I paused the game and looked at my tachograph. What surprised me that it said that I could have already been travelling with the line speed of 100 km/h.

How should I have known that the speed restriction did no longer in effect? I thought that it would apply until the end of the train left a signal with an indication that would lift the restriction. However, I don't remember passing any signs or signals, there were no Yen symbols in my timetable yet denoting the end of the point zone and the exit signal is still ahead of me.

Can someone clarify for me how long a restriction from Zsig applies?

Hello. Normally, the signal speed restrictions apply until you reach the end of a switching area. This means until you pass the last switch when exiting the station or until you enter a station track. In large stations, you might be going from one station track to another so keep that in mind and try to get familiar with the layouts for example through the OpenRailwayMap. Some stations also have speed signs at the end of the switching areas for extra clarity.
