Buying train parts from DB resale when i live in the uk

#1 Beitrag von Gazz292 »

DB resale has some BR143 power controls for sale, and i'd really like one as my favourite loco ever is the BR112 (and the BR143 has a similar power lever)

But they will not sell items to private individuals it seems, you have to be a business to sign up and put in a bid for any parts they sell, and also, i live in the UK and my German is so bad nowadays i have to use google translate, but i know that annoys professional people as it messes grammar up a lot.

I don't suppose someone knows someone in Germany who could work with me buying and shipping a controller? i'll pay for all costs involved and at least €100 for their time of course,

I'd even consider driving over to Germany to pick the parts up..... i did this back in 2012 when i collected my BR111 driving desk, but that was sold on ebay so i just had to pay the guy a deposit then cash when i got there for it.
But as my passport has run out, and i'm on some medications that need special 'export' papers to take into europe, this would only be worth it if i was able to source some more parts at the same time (anyone know of something like a BR110 drivers desk for sale, i'd love an electric train cab with the wheel type controller for the classic trains.

I know this is only my 3rd post on this account... i lost access to my old email and had to sign up again, i was known as 'gazz' on here before,

We can change the email address manually, so a new account is not required in this case.
Maybe we can merge the accounts.

Basically we can buy and resell parts. But I think they are only selling boxes of many desks?

Ahhh i wondered if they were selling them individually or a box of all of them, the site says ' The price quoted is for one unit. All prices are exclusive of VAT. ' but as i can't log in to the DB resale site, i can't see the price of find out if 'one unit' is one panel, or one pallet of them.

i've seen people mention €500 per panel, which is reasonable for me.. i paid double that for my BR111 parts 13 years ago, but if it's €500 each, but have to buy a pallet of 18 of them... then that complicates things (anyone up for a group buy ? :D )

Re my account, i tried to PM you but it does not let me do so,... i PM'd one of the other admins who i could click their name to PM (AndreasBrandtner) but not had a reply yet... but i did only PM them about 18 hours ago.

I'm wondering, is there anyone on here who has a DB resale account?

I can not get one as i am a private individual, but i am wondering if the controller panels were being sold individually, if there is someone who i could work with to buy one?

Or if anyone has spotted any of these on a public selling site... like ebay, or the panel from a BR112, 114 or similar train that has this style or power controller,
even just the drive handle assembly and not the whole panel.

as i am thinking of making a semi universal driving desk where i can swap out the levers to suit the trains being driven, most of the time it would be a BR112 style train i'd be driving, but for say a BR111 i would swap over to my lever style driving controller i already have, keeping the brake levers and switch panels in place as they are pretty much universal.

Someone on this forum bought one of the BR143 panels from DB resale a couple of years ago, and has offered to sell it to me,

He's based in Austria, so i need to sort out shipping it from there to the uk... which has changed a lot since i last bought scrapped train parts from Germany (damn brexit, which claims i'll have to pay uk VAT when it gets to the uk, and need customs forms etc)

I am searching for some other parts, like a set of the brake valves and levers used in the older trains, i.e. the horizontal levers as found in trains like the BR110. 103 etc... of which the main air brake lever would be used in my BR143 drivers desk build (it doesn't have the separate E-brake lever that other trains use.... but i'd like to find a set of levers with that as well, as one day i'd love to make a control panel for the wheel type power controller trains, like the BR110, BR103 etc)
I believe these brake valves / levers would be the Knorr D2 and D5 ?

And has anyone got a BR112/143 reverser lever to sell me, as the power lever panels from DB resale don't come with them it seems,

I'd also be interested in an MFA suitable for the BR143/112, i.e. with the 'bug' that shows the set speed on the outside of the dial, i have an MFA from a BR111 that does not have that feature.

:

Ok, i'd really love to buy everything for a complete BR112 / 143 driving desk, but i doubt anyone has those parts to sell, so i imagine i will have to piece together the parts to make a 'franken-controller'

i do apologise for this, but i have arranged to purchase a BR143 desk from someone on here who bought one a couple of years ago.

I will keep a look out for any other parts DB resale offer, and possibly ask to purchase them through you in the future?
But i don't think many items get listed on DB resale often like brake valves, power levers, MFA's, EBuLa's and other driving desk parts, so i need to keep asking around for people who knows of or has some of the other parts i am searching for (trying to build a BR143 / 112 / 114 style driving desk, so looking for any other parts to go with it for my project.
