Hi,

Zusi 3.5 so far is released only as a Beta version.
As far as I know, the official release is due in short time together with the update package 118.

Regards,
Thomas

What will be the main novelties on 3.5?
Anything interesting?

Mainly the addition of a 64 bit version (= more usable RAM) and support for high DPI monitors. On the functional level, improvements include diesel-electric traction and the ability to switch traction systems.

Just ran viewtopic.php?f=47&t=18448 through DeepL:
A new setup will be made available with the release of version 3.5 in January 2023. If you have an older Zusi version, you can download the new setup. It is essential to delete the files of the old version beforehand. The new setup will ask this for already existing directories. Please note that own works must be backed up before! These are typically located in the own data directory (by default C:\Users\Public\Documents\Zusi3\).

The data content of the USB stick of version 3.5 does not have to be saved on the stick. It is enough to download the setup and install it if the stick is connected to the PC and the file %stick%\fullversion\usb.dat is present. Run the exe file in this link: https://updates.zusi.de/ZusiWebInstallerLauncher.zip [note: you can switch it to English using the button with the flag], press "Install". When the process is finished, an explorer window will open with the stick contents saved on the hard drive. There you start the setup.exe file.

32/64 bit version: Since version 3.5, Zusi is offered in 32 and 64 bit; the setup offers the selection of the version during the installation. The advantage of the 64 bit version is the ability to use much larger amounts of memory, which helps when navigating large route networks and building large route modules. The 64 bit version requires a 64 bit operating system, while the 32 bit version can run on 32 and 64 bit operating systems. On a 64 bit system usually the 64 bit version of Zusi should be installed.
If, for example, the 32 bit version is also to be installed for test purposes, then the following procedure is recommended: In the first run of the setup install the 32 bit version without data stock, then call the setup again and install the 64 bit version with data stock, then start the 32 bit Zusi file management with administrator rights and set the data directory to the data stock from the 64 bit version. This way you can work with both versions on the same database.
The track plan editor is not yet available in version 3.5. In the directory full version there is the file Setup_Zusi3_Gleisplaneditor20230124.exe, which installs the track plan editor 3.4. During the installation the directory of the 32 bit version must be selected, by default C:\Programs (x86)\Zusi3. For the 64 bit installation there is no track plan editor yet.

Hi.

Great news concerning Version 3.5. Could you tell me if this version will be released through the Steam Platform. I have the Aerosoft version via Steam. Many thanks and kind regards John

Hi John,

here's a translation of Carsten's post dating Jan 24th.

"The new setup is ready. Thankfully, Stefan has taken care of all the data of package 118 and further data maintenance, I have integrated all the innovations into a new setup. My part alone was at least 1.5 weeks full time. It adds up to a lot of stuff, just the implementation of various functions in Innosetup. Innosetup is a top programme, by the way.
So for the existing users there is a hard cut - Zusi has to be reinstalled. There is no other way to get a grip on the numerous changes. I will come to a corresponding mechanism towards the end of the week, after which the Steam version will have to be adapted to 64 bit. [...]"

Thus the steam version will be issued as the next step but the final work will take a certain time.

Thomas

I've just installed 3.5 in my hard drive.

As far as I know, it installed every update.
However, since all was done automatically, I couldn't see the new packet novelties...

What are the 118 paket new features?
I've already dwelled into the german forum, but couldn't find it.

Thanks
