Zusi 3 Hobby - Reference Guide - Newbies and Experts

#1 Beitrag von stavka »

Hi All, this guide that I wrote was a work from reading manual and kudos to F. Schn. (Thanks Buddy) that clarify some infos on LZB.

Dear Carsten Hölscher, I hope this guide helps the english community on the use of your great simulator. I think that if this guide is pinned it will be useful to new virtual drivers arriving here. Thank You!!!
(This guide is a helper, it not substitute the official manual that soon or later everyone should read it ;) )

Maybe some entries are not precise enough
After 700m from 1000Hz you can use Frei/Free (out from magnet 500Hz) to free the restriction
An additional rule applies here: If a main signal is quite near, it must show clear with >=40km/h (when the signal shows 30km/h or lower, it is not allowed to use Frei)

---2000Hz - Signal
Active when red light
When the actual speed is reduced to a speed limit >=100km/h and this is more than 20% (example: 140->100) in some locations are speed check devices installed. If you enter them too fast, you will be punished with an active 2000Hz magnet. The distances and checked speeds you will find in a table at section 1.2.4 Fall 4 in wiki: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geschwind ... itt#Fall_4" target="_blank

Just my opinion after 1st flyover.

remarks: not yet used means "not installed in routes", not "not implemented in Zusi". E40 non-blinking is used (only information), only E40 blinking is not used.

Branch lines: you must not know that. (It's not wrong but lacks a complicated definition of "branch line"). Just read the speed column of your timetable.

Yellow signal: Expect stop. (Hl+Ks signals) What you mean is green+yellow = 40 if not further rule is applied (HV+Hl signals).

Esig, Zsig, Asig, Bksig, and so on: It is not really important for normal users. Only Bksig and Sbk means ¥ integrated. In case of old time tables, where ¥ is not included you have to know that the ¥ is located behind Asig and Bksig-Abzw/Üst after the last switch.

Updated, Thanks!
When i mention:
Yellow <40km/h
is main signal at yellow, not distance neither Hl signals. But its true, mainly when on green+yellow. Anyway is when yellow shows (not on Hl).

Okay, so you mean the main signal part of Hl Signals?

(Remarks: I think you have noticed that there are no Hl Signals in Zusi yet?)

Yes, when Yellow is on the main, not as a distance information.
I never mentioned that Hl is not yet on Zusi. By the way, already exist routes with Hl signals on Zusi?
My guide was based on manual, manual covers a chapter explaining them and its why its on the guide. If not yet used, it will be on the guide for further reference when its available to use ;)

One is a unoffical module by Alwin, another unofficial module by Alwin is in progress. Both were not expected to get official soon due to short length.

Thanks for your efforts.
I find the doors a nightmare I can open the doors using T and einfig or Pos 1 find shutting is the big issue.
those this is automatic on RE trains then the Green door light is illuminated you still have to do something before you are allowed to move on.

I find it is not easy to make out what direction the rotary door switch is set to in the cab I can not an defining white marker on the switch
so can see what position your button in , so I am guessing we are talking about a four way switch and 12 o-clock would be closed and locked
9 o clock is doors left 3 o-clock is doors right I can just about make out a door symbol at the 6 o-clock position.

But still its a little confusing when the switch is vertical which is up or down.
so you can lose minutes trying to get out of station because the train wont move while you just keep massing the door buttons until finally
you get moving.

Then you think fine I can see that everything is in the correct place only for the same thing to happen at the next station.
I find this testing for a playing point of view I know the keys but still I have the same issues (t) before you stop the train under 25Km/h then the left or right door opening buttons
there is also (Z)

This section for sure could do with some tweaks in the manual just to make it more understandable .

I would imagine some systems will work better if you are using a Cab style controller , with the correct switch types , I put my compact cab control on hold while I had more important things to deal
this is way I only came back to Zusi 3 a few weeks ago now.

But I have place were I can buy the Correct USB interface that allows both analog and digital inputs to be used. just trying to find some switches and buttons now and levers .

I hope to have something working by Christmas , but we have some trips yet to get out of the way before I can put some time into .
