After a long absence from Zusi 2 decided to reinstall and enjoy running this fine sim once more.

Unfortunately when I came to install off the CD, neither of the two I own would work. The drive doesn't recognise CD12 at all and when I tried to install from CD13 the process started, but stalled out after less than 10% of the process unable to read a file (I think) the message said. Could be the discs have become faulty, could be my seldom used DVD drive is becoming defective or have these discs fallen victim to Windows 10 no longer supporting various forms of copy protection - in particular Securom, if that was used in preparing the disc?

I see in the shop there is a CD14 and while I have no issue paying the €15 for this version, I need an assurance the DVD is fully compatible with Windows 10 before ordering.

In the longer term, has Carsten considered offering Zusi 2 via download service rather than on disc, or even just putting on Steam, which would be the best solution?

Update: Looks like it is my DVD drive which has broken. Managed to install on the laptop, so guess I need to buy a new optical drive (and CD14!).

Why do you not get Zusi3 instead of CD14? Of Course it’s more expensive, but the development of Zusi2 has stopped, so you won’t have fun for very long.

I hear what you say Daniel but €64 (roughly £57) is just too expensive to indulge my hobby, particularly with the poor exchange rate between the £ and Euro, too.

If the price were to drop in future then I would jump at the chance to buy it!

Seeing that you have CD12 - I'm not sure if the offer is still valid, but when Zusi 3 was originally released, Carsten announced that you could enter your Zusi 2 license number (CD12 or later; include the hyphens when entering it) as a voucher code ("Gutscheincode") during checkout, which would then give you a discount of 7.50 €.

I would have thought not, but CD14 will still give me hours of fun while I save up the pennies for Zusi 3 and wait for the Euro - £ exchange rate to improve - very unlikely with this stupid Brexit fiasco after which of course we will also have to pay import duty on any items purchased from Europe. (Hence my suggestion for the games to also be available on download).

Just to confirm, fitting the new DVD drive cured the problem. CD13 installed without issues, though I will wait for my order of CD14 to arrive rather than ploughing through all those updates.

Re Zusi 3, is there a central list of the routes which come with the base package and any third party ones which have been created? (Doesn't matter if in German). I will definitely be looking at getting this, probably next year.
