Identifying flashing lights in the driver's cab

#1 Beitrag von FrEdBakker »

Hello Everyone

Although I speak some German , I thought this section would be a bit easier for me.

I am using the Zusi demo at the moment , I must admit that I am impressed . I have not as yet decided whether I will buy Zusi.

I understand the procedures re ZIFA, but another strange thing is happening when I drive in a tunnel , a buzzer sounds and
a green light starts flashing , bottom row on the far right. Do you know what that relates to and how I can stop it and resume the journey.

I find that Zusi is running well on Windows 10. I have been an MSTS fan and still am and run it on a laptop with windows 7.

Best regards,
Father Ed Bakker
P.S. I have a picture showing the problem , but I noticed that I cannot attach anything at this stage.

Hello Ed,

welcome to this forum!

Are you sure that the flashing light is green and not yellow? Anyway, besides SIFA there is PZB in German trains, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punktf%C3 ... influssung" target="_blank ! If your train has been stopped, it is probably because of PZB and has nothing to do with the tunnel.

In Zusi "PZB wachsam" (or "Wachsamkeitskontrolle") is operated by ENTER on the numpad. And contrary to AWS there is no audible warning that you have passed a distant signal at danger!

Kind Regards

Christian

This is the (yellow) Indusi 1000Hz. See driving school in the demo.

Hi,

Running Zusi will be quite a frustrating experience without an understanding of PZB. Unlike AWS, it is not as simple as "press the button when a buzzer sounds". There are some rules you have to know and follow, and if you don't the emergency brakes come on:)

There is a reasonable explanation here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punktf%C3 ... influssung" target="_blank
This set of tutorials is also quite useful: http://www.sh1.org/eisenbahn/rindusi.htm" target="_blank
In particular part 3(http://www.sh1.org/eisenbahn/rindusi3.htm" target="_blank), which breaks it down to "a light is flashing, what should I do?".

I also found the driving school very useful when I was Zusi beginner,
