Thank You for the Tutorial
Thank You for the Tutorial
Just a quick note to thank those who translated the Help Pages and the Route Building tutorial. I am now slowly working through this and starting to achieve an understanding of how the editor works. So far up to installing crossovers and the first signals. That doesn't mean to say a new route will appear by this time next week but it's (perhaps) not as hard as it looks!
The MSTS scene is getting very stale at present, switching to Zusi for a while seems just the ticket to try something new. I actually find driving in MSTS quite boring now, but that's not the case in Zusi. If only we had some UK colour light and semaphore signals!

I'm not quite sure but I think Oli(ver Lamm) is building those due to his UK project? Maybe he stumbles across this thread and answers by himself.Vern hat geschrieben:If only we had some UK colour light and semaphore signals!

DIY . Well, for this you need the Zusi Object Editor, which is not yet available in English. But if you supply the necessary information (pictures or drawings with the exact measuments) I'm sure somebody will build these signals (maybe myself ).

Christian

Definitely. There are certainly limitations, but the Zusi approach is capable of supporting different logical signalling architectures. Basically there is no scripting. The logic is set up in signal matrices with quite some automation included. And you will be able to get plenty of help from the experts for more complex situations.

He also could do it with a 3D modeller which has an .x export, right? And with Roland's tool, he can convert it to .ls, or did I miss a thing? *g*Christian Gründler hat geschrieben:DIY . Well, for this you need the Zusi Object Editor, which is not yet available in English.

Oh Roland,Roland Ziegler hat geschrieben:There are certainly limitations
don't hide Zusi's light under a bushel - what limitations . I admit that AWS and TPWS must still be implemented (probably in Zusi 3); the same applies to RETB. But the signals - semaphore, two/three/four aspect colour light - can already today be built to Britisch standards and will work as required.

Christian

yes, this works. But it will not help, as Zusi 2 doesn't use bitmaps, so much of the original information is lost. I assume that starting from scratch with the Zusi Object editor will be easyer. Of course Zusi 3 will be able to read .x files.

Christian

Well, I thought you can start with a third-party modeller to have a basis for Zusi 3 AND to make nice objects for Zusi 2. Maybe you even can use (almost) the same object for Zusi 2 and Zusi 3, whereby the object needs the material colors for Zusi 2 and textures for Zusi 3...
But sure, it's the creator's decision.

I've started on the colour signal and a basic version is already build.
I've done so far:
- 4/3/2 apsect signals (including theatre screens)
- limit of shunt
What I'm looking for is some drawings about semaphore signals and route indicators for the colour signals. Also measurements would be nice.
I've got measurements for the colour aspect signals as we use them as well.
@Jason: where are you located ?

This link is better-

Then you can look through all the docs.
Hello Oli,
Glad to hear from you, i think i can remember a while back reading about you working with the Metrolink.
Glad to hear you have done some signals.
I work as a relief signalman in East Sussex.
If you wait till early next week i should be able to get some drawings/measurements of signals.

Continuing to work through the tutorial, a couple of quick points.
I have had several module/address errors when trying to create the crossovers and junction at the branch terminus station - is that normal or a bug? Also is there any sort of "undo" function? I jumped ahead to add a platform but got it on the wrong side of the track. I see it is possible to delete track sections but I couldn't highlight the platform to select it for deletion or an undo button.
