The meaning of a word

#1 Beitrag von Jason-M »

Can anyone tell me please what "Anfanger Modus" means in the Assessment, I know it is because I have done something very naughty.

Thanks

It means nothing but "Beginner Mode", where some functions of the simulator are more or less simplified.

Correct. If I remember it correctly, the only mode where you don't lose any points is the Professional Mode ("Profi-Modus"). But beware, there are a lot of traps for the unexperienced driver in Professional Mode.

Hello,
you have the choice between "Anfänger" (Beginner), "Fortgeschrittene" (Advanced) and "Profi" (Professional) mode. In beginner and advanced mode, some of the more sophisticated features are disabled, e. g. random-generated signal failures, so it makes driving much easier for those who you are new to Zusi. However, if you want to get 100% you must turn to professional mode.

Best regards,
Klaus

Hello Jason,

actually your Zusi (program and manual) should be in English if you have got CD 13 or have updated to that version (program and add-ons). Probably you forgot to copy the contents (!) of the Zusi\Sprachen\English folder into the Zusi folder. (Sorry for the inconvenience...).

Regards,
Christian

I haven't checked the translation. Is this mode called "rookie" or "newbie" in English? ?( :D

Thanks everyone, I have been away for a while so just catching up.

Christian, how much of the assessment windows at the end of a run should be in English? some of it is with my set-up but it still shows things like "Anfanger Modus". Also is there plans to translate the keyboard layout in the simulation/settings?

Thanks

Hello Jason,

unfortunately most parts of the assessment cannot be translated due to technical reasons. If your result looks like this
Bild

it is all right.
Also is there plans to translate the keyboard layout in the simulation/settings?
The keyboard layout under Settings seems to be hard coded and therefore cannot be translated. But there is a keyboard layout under Help which should be in English. Of course this is only for information, but it is certainly sufficient if you are not going to change the meaning of the keys.

Christian

I don't know how Carsten implemented it and what the Delphi environment is capable of, but I would expect an option to out-source any form of text string anywhere in the code into a language dependent resource file. It is cumbersome work to search for those strings in the code and move and replace them, particularly if you have to dig deep down into years-old libraries. It took me a whole day for TransDEM, I found more than 200 instances. But I'm sure the design of Zusi3 will have taken care of that issue from the beginning.

Thanks for the info Christian and Roland.
Yes Christian my result looks like that, thankyou.

I am very happy to wait for Zusi 3 for the better translations.
