Help needed with updates

I have found my Zusi CD(12) again and reading the forum, it appears that there is some sort of English translation in the software. Is this right?

I am trying to update my version of Zusi and on the website I have located the zip files on http://www.zusi.de/updates.htm which unzip to "upd" files. What do I do with these?

I would be grateful if anyone can help me out, please.....

Hi Mike,

you just have to perform a double-click on each of these upd-files (in the right order of version-number, of course).

The english translations are included in Add-Ons, available at http://www.zusi.de -> Download -> Add-Ons (Edit: As you have CD12, you need all add-ons of the two regions "Add-Ons aufbauend auf CD12" and "Add-Ons aufbauend auf CD13"). After extracting these zip-files, you must double-click the zad's (again in the right order). To enable the english language in Zusi, you have to copy the content of \zusi\sprachen\english\ to \zusi\.

Andreas is right, but I'd like to add that it is necessary to move the .upd files to the Zusi folder first. (It doesn't matter in which folder the .zad files reside.)

I received my Zusi CD 13 just after Christmas. Now I notice that there are three updates based on CD 13, two of them dated 2.10.2004 and one 21.12.2004. I'm wondering if my CD contains any of these.

Also, I'd like to know what this warning means:

Die Add-Ons funktionieren auf einer frisch installierten CD, es muß mind. auf Zusi-Verwaltung 2.3.2.0 upgedatet worden sein. Wenn alle möglichen anderen Zusi-Daten auf Ihrem Rechner sind, dann kann es evtl. zu Problemen kommen. Also im Zweifelsfall: Noch benötigte Daten sichern, Zusi deinstallieren und neu von CD installieren.

No, your CD does not contain these updates. "Based on CD 13" means that these updates require an installation according to CD 13.

Translation of the warning:
The Add-Ons work on a fresh installation of the CD, Zusi-Verwaltung has to be at least Version 2.3.2.0. If there are several other Zusi files on your System, some problems may occur. So if you are in doubt, back up the files you may need, uninstall Zusi and reinstall from the CD.

Moved the upd files to the zusi directory and I am still stuck. I just get a program start up called "Zusi Verwaltung" showing a blank grid. It doesn't seem to do anything else.

Perhaps the .upd files are linked to the wrong program. Try this: Click on the .upd file with the right mouse button and select "open with...". Select ZusiUpdate.exe from your Zusi directory.

Seems that something apparently obvious has beaten me. Even struggling with the German Language, Zusi is still very good, even if the Indusi keeps getting the better of me.

That very thread was what inspired me to update my Zusi. Seems to be working ok now.
