Just started this thread because the Niagara Falls, Ontario, post office internet connection is that slow. Some of the admins may merge this posting into the main thread.
The last of the ASTER DEMs has arrived. Bruce, I would suggest to download it before it expires.
Here it is. Other address parts as before.
ASTER_DEM20040419093958.tif
I haven't checked it, no tools with me here.
(Will board the "Canadian" Toronto - Vancouver tomorrow for 4 a day journey across the continent)

Back home, I downloaded and checked this last DEM. It does not fill the remaning gap as I thought it would. So I will give it another try to find the proper"granule" and order one or two more custom made DEMs. It's just two km which is missing, but why handcrafting from other sources when we can get the data for free.
(Riding the "Canadian" has been an extraordinary experience - one of the last classic long distance trains remaining in the railway world, with comfortable sleeper accomodation, dome car panoramic views, good food and wine in the diner, and excellent service throughout the journey - what a difference to Amtrak! A few days later I have also been able to chase the CP steam passenger special by car, with the newly restored CP 2816, a 4-6-4 Hudson, on its inaugural run last week from Calgary to Vancouver on the Western part of its route.)

I'll await your advice.
As I said before, I envy you the opportunity to travel on this train.Roland Ziegler hat geschrieben:Riding the "Canadian" has been an extraordinary experience - one of the last classic long distance trains remaining in the railway world,......
Well, you'll just have to come Down Under now, and ride the Indian Pacific and the Ghan, to make your experiences complete.
Regards,
Bruce.

After months and months of waiting:

This could very well be the missing link. I have to check thoroughly.
