Looks like that most of PZB will be finished for this weekend. I guess, I will fail to finish PZ80 and Integra Signum, but the German system are nearly that far!

Mal wieder eine Wortmeldung von mir.
Ich habe bisher WEDER eien STATUSBERICHT noch fertige Dokumentationen erhalten.
Es ist Mitte Juni.
Daher fordere ich alle auf (Ausnahme bereits bei mir abgelieferte) mir den aktuellen Stand der Doumentation zu nenne UND ob derjenige noch weiterarbeitet oder nicht.
Wenn nicht kann er es einfach sagen, hier wird keiner geköpft deswegen, nur sollten wir das mal langsam auf die Reihe bekommen !!!

I'd like annonce my resignation as coordinator of the english translation. From now on all enquiries and arrangements should be adressed to Christian Gründler as he will become my successor. One reason for this step is my actual lack of time to force this project toward its target in a reasonable time. Whats left of my actual spare time is to be used on forcing my own Zusi-Projects (KBS485 and Metrolink) as well as the process of creating signals for NS and former BR.

Well, it is impossible to translate some sentences in German to English. But this sentence from a famous tv advertisement was brought to my mind, when I read Manfred's overestimation of his own capabilities .

But really, it was not easy to translate the chapter about signalling, because I didn't know all the technical terms. Christian is just replacing some terms of my translation, so it will correspond to all the other parts of the translations.

Liebe Leute,

nachdem ich vor ein paar Tagen die Koordination der Übersetzung von Oli übernommen habe will ich mal einen Zustandsbericht geben:

• Zur "echten Bahn" haben bisher shangway (Bahntechnik), Manfred Kätzler (Signale) und Arie van Zon (Bremsen) etwas abgeliefert. Die beiden erstgenannten Dokumente habe ich inzwischen in HTML-Dateien umgewandelt, die sich mit sämtlichen Querverweisen in die Zusi-Doku einfügen; Arie hatte seine Übersetzung schon "mundgerecht" formatiert.
• "Work in progress" sind zur Zeit der Buchfahrplan (Arie van Zon) und PZB (Roland Zühlke).
• Zu den Programmen gibt es bisher nur meine Übersetzung des Streckeneditors (Teil 1 und 2 bereits veröffentlicht, Teil 3 ist fertig) und der Verwaltung (bereits veröffentlicht).
• "Work in Progress" ist mein Fahrsimulator sowie der Führerstandseditor (AndiK).

Wie geht es weiter?

• @Carsten: ich schlage vor, daß wir die fertigen Teile zum Vorbild jetzt veröffentlichen. Das wird eine recht kleine Zip-Datei. Wenn dann weitere Teile dazukommen kann man diese Datei einfach erweitern. Inkrementelle Downloads anzubieten dürfte sich bei ca. 80 kB Gesamtgröße (Endzustand) erübrigen, und auch mehrfacher Download des jeweilegen Gesamtpakets ist selbst für Modem-Besitzer zumutbar. (Ach ja: abweichend von den Datenstrukturen bei den Programmen sollte es m.E. zwei zip-Archive geben – "real_railways.zip" und "echte_bahn.zip", damit jeder nur die Sprache runterladen muß, die er wirklich braucht.)
• @Arie: solltest Du den Buchfahrplan in nächster Zeit fertig machen können würde ich ihn noch in das erste Paket mit reinpacken; @Roland: gleiches gilt für das PZB-Kapitel. "Deadline" sollte Ende des Monats sein. (Nicht nötig, daß ihr euch heute festlegt – ich werde ja sehen, was ich am 30. habe.)
• @Sven Jänig: Du wolltest mal das Sifa-Kapitel übersetzen – wie sieht es aus?

Kommen wir zum unerfreulichen Teil. Vor ziemlich genau sechs Monaten hat hier in diesem Forum eine ziemliche Begeisterung geherrscht. Das Resultat ist – gemessen nicht nur an dieser Begeisterung, sondern auch an der Anzahl aktiver Zusianer – einigermaßen ernüchternd. Meine Frage ist natürlich: will noch jemand was machen?

Vorrang sollten m.E. im Moment die noch ausstehenden Kapitel zur echten Bahn haben (LZB/ZUB und evtl. Sifa). In zweiter Linie fehlen natürlich noch die meisten Editoren, außerdem das Lokbaututorial und eine Überarbeitung von Immos "Anleitung zum Bau einer Übungsstrecke" (da er selber kein Zusi hat, haben sich in seine Übersetzung leider einige Verständnisfehler eingeschlichen). Ich habe allerdings den Verdacht, daß da jede Übersetzung zu spät kommen wird weil Zusi 3 schneller ist...

Hello everybody,

a couple of minutes ago I have sent the next instalment of the Zusi translation to Carsten for release. Up to now there are translated

• the Driving Simulator (program and manual)
• the Route Editor (program and manual)
• the File Manager ("Verwaltung", only the manual)
• most parts of "Railway technology" section of the documentation
• most parts of the "Data formats" chapter

Work in progress is

• the Cab Editor (AndiK)
• Building a simple test route (Immo Birnbaum)

So what's still missing?

• "Baurichtlinien" (Principles of route building) – contents will probably change with Zusi 3 and should not be translated now (@Carsten: IMHO this chapter should be integrated into Route Editor part 3 !)
• in the "Railway technology" section a very short part at the end of the PZB chapter (which Roland will probably translate in the future) and the LZB/ZUB chapter
• "Gebäude-Editor" (Object Editor) – will be obsolete with Zusi 3 and should therefore not be translated
• the Vehicle Editor ("Fahrzeug-Editor"); will probably not change with Zusi 3. This is really the last important task at the moment, and translators are most welcome. (Part of this task is the translation of the respective parts of the "Data formats".)

I hope that the already released parts of Zusi in English work well, and that there will be somebody to translate the LZB/ZUB chapter and the Vehicle Editor.

they are to be found on the Add-ons page of http://www.zusi.de – concealed in the file "cd12_23_diverses.zip". Unfortunately you have to install all add-ons in consecutive order if you would like to avoid a mess on your computer, and not everything is already published. Moreover you have to move some files manually, which should be explained in "...\Zusi\Sprachen\readme.txt ".

If you tell me your email address, I can send you everything that is translated by now.
