...but please, please only do the last suggestion if you are sure you know how to revert your changes if it makes your OS not boot anymore.

It puzzles me, that "Starten" and the progress bar is not visible...? And I wonder that Carsten seems to have no Idea, why...

And of cause it's an error, that "Reference rasterizer" is the only possible value, but even with "Reference rasterizer": Zusi will slow down, but should work...

Did you do the "Standardeinstellungen" in "Fahrsimulator" or in "Verwaltung"?

And Czechian is both your keyboard layout and your PC language and your "number style" (region settings)?

Does starting the Zusi 3D editor work? Any error messages there?

Hi,

I described this problem some time ago in this topic: http://forum.zusi.de/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=11095

I didn't find any solution but suspect language problems (Polish signs etc.).

In this case, the route network is not even being loaded, while in your case it is loaded and the graphics system has been initialized. It might be a related problem though (non-German language settings/different codepages come to mind).

After some further experiments, it really does appear to be the same problem Don Johnson described. It just manifests itself differently in the newest demo version.

Furthermore, it seems to be related to language settings. When changing the "Format" preset to "Czech (Czech republic)" in the Region & Language settings, the described behavior occurs. Interestingly enough, merely applying all format specifications "by hand" in the corresponding input fields is not enough to trigger the behavior. It could therefore be caused by some language specific constants, e.g. weekday names.

So naturally one should try setting that to "German (Germany)", clicking Apply and restarting Zusi.

Hello,
Now it seems you have hit the spot. Changing Regional Settings / Format to German was enough to make Zusi running.
However it is quite interesting, as Johannes noted, because German and Czech formats are very similar (e.g. comma for decimal numbers, not a point).

This is true even after the application of the above work-around. The main screen (the one with the list of routes and trains) is exactly the same as it was before, but now Zusi responds to the Start command.

I will be off for a couple of days, so I will not be able to respond to the discussion until Monday, but anyway, the cause of the problem seems to be found, and it can be solved using the work-around.

Thank you all for your help!
Bye for now, JK

I have switched my computer to Czech and don't see any problems. Maybe we check this problem again with the next demo.
