I was just wondering if anyone has thought of making some or all of the above route in Zusi? I remember travelling over this section in 1985 and being awe struck by the scenery, particularly the climb out of Innsbruck.

Probably not, as it is not marked on Frank Wenzel's map (http://www.metromania.de/Start/Zusi-SK/ ... karte.html)

Would be a really phantastic line for Zusi, the "Karwendelbahn"; and the first line of the ÖBB*) (Innsbruck Hbf - Mittenwald, Ehrwald - Pfronten) AND the DB**) (Mittenwald - Garmisch - Ehrwald, Pfronten-Steinach - Kempten).

Frank's map is a very useful resource.

Shame the Karwendelbahn is not up for construction at the moment, but perhaps in time...

Thanks for your recommendation, Vern!

I'll be able to note some lines from GB and the commonwealth 8) on my pages at any time, I just hope so.

Hi!

This line is one of the most impressive ones I know. I have been several times on holiday in Pfronten, which is situated along this route, at the German-Austrian border, and I like the landscape in this region.

A good resource for this track (in German) with many good pictures is
